Nick Reiner’s physical and mental condition has reportedly declined during his extended stay at a Los Angeles jail, according to a report citing a source close to the Reiner family.

The source told the Daily Mail that Reiner’s appearance and behaviour have changed significantly during his time at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he has reportedly spent months in the jail’s mental health unit. The source claimed Reiner has lost weight, has very short hair and appears physically different from before his incarceration.

Reiner has reportedly been held in the facility’s mental health unit and spent time in solitary confinement. His detention follows allegations connected to the deaths of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner, in December. The case remains ongoing, and the allegations have not been proven in court.

According to the report, Reiner had previously shown signs of mental health struggles, including an unusual appearance during an earlier court appearance. The family source claimed his current condition has made communication with his legal team more difficult.

The report also stated that Reiner’s siblings, Jake and Romy, are concerned about his wellbeing and fear his health could continue to deteriorate.

The Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles houses inmates with significant mental health needs and has been described by local officials as one of the largest jail-based mental health facilities in the United States.

Reiner’s legal proceedings are continuing as questions remain surrounding his mental state, treatment while in custody and the next steps in the case. Court officials and Reiner’s legal representatives have not publicly commented on the claims regarding his condition.
