Robert Pattinson's Batman sequel flies to 2028 after Warner Bros schedule overhaul
Warner Bros delays The Batman Part II to 2028 as J.J. Abrams' The Great Beyond moves to October 2027

Warner Bros has updated its theatrical release schedule, pushing The Batman Part II to 2028 while moving J.J. Abrams' upcoming sci-fi film The Great Beyond to an earlier slot in late 2027.
According to the studio's revised schedule, The Great Beyond, starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega, will now be released on October 1, 2027, instead of its previously announced November 13, 2027 date. The change means The Batman Part II, which had occupied the October release date, will now arrive in cinemas on February 18, 2028.
Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman Part II reunites Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne alongside returning cast members Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell and new additions including Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance and Sebastian Koch. The release delay reportedly follows a five-month production postponement, giving Reeves additional time for post-production. The sequel will still receive an IMAX release.
Meanwhile, The Great Beyond marks Abrams' first original feature film in more than a decade. In addition to Powell and Ortega, the cast includes Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Merritt Wever and Samuel L. Jackson. The film was previewed during CinemaCon earlier this year and is expected to launch as the only major studio-wide release on October 1, 2027.
Warner Bros also adjusted two other films on its release calendar. Sam Esmail's thriller Panic Carefully, starring Julia Roberts, Eddie Redmayne and Elizabeth Olsen, has moved from February 26 to April 9, 2027. In exchange, New Line's horror sequel Revenge of La Llorona shifts from April 9 to February 26, 2027.
The updated schedule reshapes Warner Bros' upcoming slate as the studio prepares several high-profile theatrical releases over the next two years.
