Ariana Grande will no longer appear in American Horror Story season 13 after exiting the upcoming FX horror series due to scheduling conflicts with her Eternal Sunshine concert tour.

Sources confirmed that the pop star departed the Ryan Murphy-produced series as her touring commitments made it difficult to participate in the new season. Grande was originally announced as part of the cast alongside several returning American Horror Story favorites, marking what would have been her first appearance in the long-running horror anthology franchise.

Season 13 is set to bring back a number of iconic cast members from previous seasons, including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. Grande’s involvement would have also reunited her with Murphy, as well as Scream Queens co-stars Roberts and Lourd, following her 2015 role in the comedy horror series.

The upcoming season will also feature appearances from John Waters, Paul Anthony Kelly, and Joey Pollari, although FX has kept story details under wraps. The new season is scheduled to premiere on September 24.

Grande previously teased her involvement in American Horror Story during an interview, revealing that she expected to have a small role in the series. She said she was excited to join the franchise and work with Murphy, describing the opportunity as something she would be grateful to be part of.

FX and 20th Television have not commented on Grande’s departure from the project.

Despite leaving the series, Grande continues to focus on her music career, with her Eternal Sunshine tour remaining a major commitment in her upcoming schedule.
