Connor Hines lands Netflix series order with golf thriller 'Jupiter Island'

Netflix orders 'Jupiter Island', a golf drama from Connor Hines and A24, set in an exclusive world of secrets

Netflix has officially ordered Jupiter Island, a new drama series centered on the high-stakes world of professional golf.

The project comes from Connor Hines, creator of FX's Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, in collaboration with A24, marking the first production under Hines' new overall deal with the streaming platform.

The series has received a straight-to-series order and promises a character-driven story set against the backdrop of one of America's most exclusive communities. According to Netflix, Jupiter Island follows the privileged lives of elite professional golfers and their spouses on the ultra-exclusive Florida island. Their seemingly perfect world begins to unravel when a mysterious outsider arrives, exposing secrets that threaten one of golf's most powerful couples.

Casting details have not yet been announced.

In a statement, Hines expressed excitement about partnering with Netflix, A24 and producer Julie Gardner, saying he has spent years developing the world of Jupiter Island and looks forward to bringing the story to audiences with an experienced creative team.

Netflix's Head of Scripted Series for the U.S. and Canada, Jinny Howe, praised Hines for his ability to craft compelling, character-focused stories, adding that the streamer is excited to continue working with the Emmy-nominated writer.

The announcement follows Hines' recent Emmy nomination for Love Story, which is competing in the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category.

Jupiter Island also joins a growing wave of golf-themed television projects, including Netflix's upcoming comedy The Hawk starring Will Ferrell and Apple TV+'s sports comedy Stick featuring Owen Wilson. A release date and additional casting announcements are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
