The speculation follows another post shared by Omar in June, featuring a FaceTime screenshot of Steve. Omar captioned it, “Kissin Steve thru the iphone” alongside a heart-eyes emoji.

Despite the online attention, neither Apollo nor Lacy has publicly confirmed they are dating.

Steve Lacy has previously spoken about his sexuality in interviews. Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2025, he said, “I’d probably be easier if it were just like, ‘I’m g-word,’ but I’m not g-word. It’s fluid, and queer is a lot harder to explain than just being a gay dude.”

In a 2023 interview with Variety, Lacy also said, “I didn’t really come out. I didn’t try to, it just kinda happened. I don’t care to announce who I’m into sexually. I think it’s silly. I never felt I needed to come out.”

Apollo has also discussed becoming more open about his identity. In a 2024 interview with NPR, he said, “I’m very gay, so I’m just like, whatever.”
