Notice seeking scholarship data suspended
The Islamabad High Court has suspended a notice issued by the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) seeking data on the provision of free education to 10 per cent deserving students by a private educational institution.
The court issued notices to the federation, PEIRA and other respondents seeking their replies.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition. Advocate Abdul Waheed Quresishi appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
Counsel submitted that the petitioner runs an educational institution in I-10 and that PEIRA had issued a notice on June 11 seeking data regarding scholarships for 10 per cent deserving students.
