Donald Trump describes Nicki Minaj as 'so hot' during White House speech
The rapper attended a White House gathering where the US President applauded her talent and public support in remarks

Donald Trump publicly praised Nicki Minaj during a White House event on July 6, calling the rapper "so hot", "so great" and "a great friend" as he recognised her in front of invited guests.
Speaking at a Rose Garden Club Lunch, the US President singled out Minaj while discussing supporters he described as representing "common sense". Trump avoided referring to her as a conservative and instead highlighted her backing of his political movement before inviting the audience to applaud her.
"We also have a woman that is so respected and so hot and so great and is a great friend," Trump said. He later added that Minaj was "a fantastic person" and "a woman respected by everybody", before praising her musical ability and asking her to stand for recognition.
The appearance marked another high profile moment in the increasingly public relationship between Trump and the Grammy nominated rapper. Over the past year, Minaj has openly expressed support for the President, a move that generated significant debate across social media and among sections of her fan base.
Earlier in 2026, Minaj publicly referred to herself as Trump's "#1 fan", continuing a political shift that began in late 2025. Her endorsement prompted strong reactions online, with supporters praising her willingness to speak openly while critics questioned her decision to align herself so closely with the administration.
The White House appearance followed several previous engagements linked to Trump's administration. In November 2025, Minaj participated in a United Nations panel discussing the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. She also attended the Trump Accounts Summit at the US Treasury Department in January, where Trump presented her with a ceremonial Trump Gold Card during the event.
According to reports, the Gold Card was presented as a symbolic gesture recognising her public support. The programme itself has been promoted by the administration as an immigration initiative for wealthy foreign applicants, although Minaj's presentation was widely viewed as ceremonial rather than part of a formal immigration process.
Trump has previously praised the rapper during Black History Month celebrations at the White House, saying simply, "I love Nicki Minaj." His latest remarks reinforced that message, placing her among the public figures he has frequently highlighted as supporters.
Minaj arrived at the Rose Garden event wearing a bright pink outfit with matching accessories, drawing attention from photographers and attendees. Images from the gathering quickly circulated online, with clips of Trump's remarks also spreading across social media platforms.
As expected, the comments generated mixed reactions. Supporters shared videos celebrating the exchange and welcomed Trump's praise of the rapper. Critics, meanwhile, questioned his description of Minaj and debated the appropriateness of referring to a female guest as "so hot" during an official White House event.
