RAWALPINDI:

The District Health Authority has completed 87 per cent coverage of the district's 6.1 million registered population under the Community Health Inspectors Programme, which aims to provide healthcare services at people's doorsteps.

Of the planned recruitment of 1,115 Lady Community Health Inspectors, 465 have been hired, while the remaining 650 are expected to be recruited by the end of July. According to sources, the recruitment process for Lady Community Health Inspectors is continuing under the doorstep healthcare programme. Under the initiative, Lady Community Health Inspectors have started visiting homes to ensure that every member of a household has access to medical treatment and healthcare services.

The 465 Lady Community Health Inspectors recruited so far have already assumed their duties.

Chief Executive of the District Health Authority Dr Ahsan Ghani said the recruitment of the remaining 650 inspectors would be completed by the end of July.

He said that once the programme is fully implemented, the registered population of 6.1 million in Rawalpindi district will have access to healthcare services and health awareness at their doorsteps.
