Actor and television host Juggun Kazim took to social media to express disappointment over the state of the hiking trails in Murree leading to Nathia Gali. Expressing her frustration at the sheer volume of litter left behind by tourists, Juggun questioned why visitors failed to clean up after themselves.

In a video post from the trail, Juggun pointed at the scattered plastic bottles and wrappers, criticising the tendency to complain about the country's condition while contributing to the problem.

"We always complain, asking what will happen to our country, what will happen to the condition of living in our country, and how the situation in our country will be fixed but how will such changes occur if we aren't looking out for our own trash and cleanliness?" the actor said.

Juggun noted that though she rarely used harsh language online, she felt the situation demanded a blunt reality check.

She argued that pollution was contributing to broader, unpredictable weather patterns affecting the region, saying, "We keep saying the climate conditions are getting worse: in summer, a hailstorm happens, and in winter, we are experiencing summer. All these climate changes are occurring because of the pollution we are causing, the unsanitary conditions we have adapted to when leaving our trash around."

Further, Juggun reminded her followers that enjoying a beautiful environment comes with the responsibility of protecting it, emphasising that humanity has no one else to blame for the environmental fallout. "We people have been granted such a beautiful life and universe by Allah; we don't take care of it, and due to that, if climate changes occur, then it's no one's fault but our own," she said.

The actor captioned her post with a plea to travellers, urging them to break the habit of leaving their mess behind for others to clear. "We travel to beautiful places to escape the mess. Let’s not leave our mess behind for someone else to clean up. Take your memories. Take your photographs. Take your garbage too," she said.

Juggun's post resonated with many, sparking a wave of agreement in the comments. Many users thanked the actor for using her platform to raise awareness about the issue, with several lamenting that modern travellers seem to have left behind their "civic sense and accountability."

Followers also acknowledged the actor's efforts in helping preserve nature.

While some frustrated netizens expressed hopelessness, others called on local authorities to impose fines to teach litterbugs a lasting lesson.
