Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley reunite in Hulu's 'You Deserve to Know', a new murder mystery drama adaptation

The Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley are set to reunite on screen for You Deserve to Know, a new murder mystery drama currently in development at Hulu.
According to Deadline, the series is based on Aggie Blum Thompson's 2025 novel of the same name and is being adapted by Grand Hotel creator Brian Tanen. The project is produced by Alex Cooper's Unwell, Aaron Kaplan's Kapital Entertainment and 20th Television.
Dobrev and Wesley will portray Gwen and Scott, neighbours who find themselves on opposite sides of a murder investigation after the death of one of their close friends. The story follows three suburban couples whose long-standing friendships begin to unravel as hidden secrets emerge in the wake of the killing.
In addition to starring, Dobrev and Wesley will serve as executive producers alongside Tanen, Thompson, Cooper, Matt Kaplan, Mina Lefevre and Aaron Kaplan.
The project marks the actors' first major on-screen reunion since The Vampire Diaries, where they portrayed Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore throughout much of the hit supernatural drama's eight-season run. Their characters became one half of one of television's most memorable love triangles before Dobrev departed the series ahead of its final season, later returning for the finale.
According to Deadline, You Deserve to Know secured development at Hulu following a competitive bidding process, making it another high-profile television project for Kapital Entertainment after its recent Hulu drama What Remains.
No release date or additional casting has been announced. As development continues, the reunion of Dobrev and Wesley is already generating significant interest among The Vampire Diaries fans eager to see the pair share the screen once again.
