PM calls for united action to combat drug threat

ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged a comprehensive national response to combat the growing threat of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, stressing the need for prevention, awareness, rehabilitation and collective action to protect Pakistan's youth from emerging narcotics-related challenges.

In his message on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, being observed on June 26, the prime minister said the occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on a challenge that continued to affect societies worldwide, including Pakistan, while underscoring the need to adapt responses to evolving drug threats.
