Tom Holland has hinted at a potentially game-changing element in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, revealing that one person in the Marvel Cinematic Universe still remembers Peter Parker despite the memory-erasing spell cast at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Speaking during the promotional tour for the upcoming film, Holland stopped short of naming the character but suggested that their knowledge of Peter’s true identity will play a significant role in the story. "No one remembers that Spider-Man is Peter Parker apart from one person."

The tease has sparked widespread fan speculation, with theories ranging from Doctor Strange ally Wong to entirely new characters entering the franchise.

The revelation marks a hopeful turn for Peter Parker, who ended No Way Home completely alone after Doctor Strange’s spell erased him from the memories of his loved ones, including MJ and Ned. Holland’s comments suggest that Peter may not be as isolated as previously thought and that a key relationship could be restored in unexpected ways.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up four years after the events of the 2021 blockbuster, with Peter living anonymously in New York and dedicating himself to being Spider-Man full-time. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, also sees the web-slinger confronting a mysterious new threat and dealing with a strange evolution in his powers.

The fourth solo Spider-Man film stars Holland alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. While trailers have teased the involvement of several villains, Holland has promised that the movie’s main antagonist is “unlike anything we’ve seen” in the MCU before.
