Bunnie Xo reveals what she would want in a divorce settlement from Jelly Roll

Bunnie Xo says her divorce from Jelly Roll is unfolding “on the best possible terms”, revealing that she will receive the dream home the couple spent the past year building together.

Speaking on the June 18 episode of her Dumb Blonde Podcast, the podcaster opened up about her split from the country star, whose real name is Jason DeFord, and shared details of their remarkably amicable divorce settlement.

“I joke around with him like, ‘Well you didn't take care of me in the marriage, but you're taking care of me in the divorce,’” Bunnie Xo said, adding that she knows the pair are an “unconventional couple” as they still plan to have a child together.

The influencer, born Alisa Andrea Carter, revealed that Jelly Roll is giving her the Tennessee compound they purchased and spent the last year transforming into their dream home.

“So J and I have been building our dream house. We bought a compound and we've been building our dream house for the past year,” she explained. “J is so f---ing sweet that he's giving me that compound in the divorce because he knows how special it is to me.”

According to Bunnie Xo, the property already features three houses. She plans to give one to her manager and hairstylist, Mimi Shahan, while another will eventually house close friend Hailee Clark, a Nashville-based celebrity make-up artist and content creator.

She also revealed that all of the animals from the couple's Tennessee homestead and sanctuary, including Scottish Highland cows, horses, donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. will be moved to the compound.

“We're all just moving in together on this compound,” she said, adding that she feels “so powerful and so inspired to just live life”.

Jelly Roll filed for divorce on May 18, citing irreconcilable differences. Court documents list May 9 as the couple's date of separation. News of their split emerged on June 15, just months before they were due to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.

Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Bunnie Xo became emotional while reflecting on the end of their marriage.

“I truly feel that my husband was the catalyst for me becoming the woman that I am today. And without him, I would not be where I am. And I stand on that,” she said through tears.

She explained that communication issues had gradually affected their relationship, with tensions finally coming to a head during an argument on Mother's Day.

“On Mother’s Day, we had a little bit of an argument, which I don't think the details are necessary,” she recalled. “And, in that argument, I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and said, ‘Well, then file the f---ing divorce papers.’”

Despite ending their nearly decade-long marriage, Bunnie Xo stressed that she and Jelly Roll remain extremely close. The former couple first met backstage at one of his concerts in Las Vegas in 2015 and married in a private ceremony in August 2016. They renewed their vows in August 2023 at the same Las Vegas chapel where they originally tied the knot.
