Former cop remanded in wife's murder case

ISLAMABAD:

A judicial magistrate in Islamabad on Wednesday granted a three-day physical remand of a former police officer arrested in connection with the alleged murder of his wife.

Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti passed the order after the suspect, Tariq Mahmood, was produced before the court by officials of the capital police.

During the hearing, the investigation officer requested the court to grant physical remand of the accused, stating that further interrogation was required and that efforts were underway to recover the alleged murder weapon.
