RAWALPINDI:

Fresh local government delimitations have been finalised in Murree under the Punjab Local Government Act, granting the hill station the status of an autonomous Municipal Corporation and dividing the district into four local government entities comprising a total of 47 Union Councils (UCs).

The restructuring aims to ensure balanced urban-rural representation and the equitable distribution of municipal resources across the district.

The corporation has been divided into 17 UCs and covers a population of 132,005.
