Taylor Swift scores historic 15th Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with Pixar’s ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’
The singer’s latest release also became Pixar’s first chart topper and opened atop country charts too

Taylor Swift has added another major achievement to her record breaking career after her new single “I Knew It, I Knew You” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song, which appears in Toy Story 5, marks Swift’s 15th career Hot 100 chart topper. According to Billboard, the achievement moves her ahead of Drake and Rihanna and gives her sole possession of third place for the most No. 1 singles in the chart’s history. Only The Beatles with 20 and Mariah Carey with 19 have earned more.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” was inspired by Jessie, the cowgirl character from the beloved Pixar franchise. The track becomes the first song from a Pixar film to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100 and only the third song from an animated Disney film to top the chart. Previous examples were “A Whole New World” from Aladdin in 1993 and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto in 2022.
The single also gives Swift her ninth No. 1 debut on the Hot 100. That milestone allows her to surpass Ariana Grande and establish a new record among female artists for the most songs to enter directly at the summit.
Billboard reported that the track opened with 27.2 million streams, 46.7 million radio audience impressions and 87,000 sales during its first tracking week. The song simultaneously launched at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, giving Swift her tenth leader on that ranking.
Another milestone arrived with the song becoming Swift’s 70th top 10 hit on the Hot 100. She remains the female artist with the most top 10 entries in the chart’s history and trails only Drake among all acts.
Swift co wrote and co produced the track with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff. The pair have worked together on several of her previous chart topping releases, including “Fortnight” and “Look What You Made Me Do”.
The superstar performed the song live for the first time during the Toy Story 5 premiere in Los Angeles on June 9, 2026. Ahead of the release, Swift said creating music for Jessie felt both familiar and exciting because she had grown up as a fan of the franchise.
Toy Story 5 is scheduled to open in cinemas on June 19. With the success of “I Knew It, I Knew You”, the film has already made history before reaching audiences worldwide.
