ISLAMABAD:

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday said the Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway would be completed within the next three to four years.

Responding to points raised during the budget debate by MQM-P's Syed Waseem Hussain, he said work had already started on the new alignment of the M-9 Karachi-Hyderabad motorway. He said the federal government had also provided a grant for the establishment of a university in Hyderabad.

The minister said Hyderabad had long been deprived of higher education facilities, noting that despite 75 years of history, the city had only recently seen focused efforts to establish a university.
