Turkish commander calls on CDF Munir

Also meets naval and air force chiefs

General Metin Tokel, Commander of Turkish Land Forces, called on COAS and CDF Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday at the GHQ.

Upon arrival at GHQ, the visiting dignitary was presented a smartly turned out Guard of Honour by an army contingent, said a news release issued by ISPR.

During the meeting, matters of mutual professional interest, regional security dynamics, and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence cooperation were discussed.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highlighted the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and strategic ties between the two countries and appreciated the strong defence partnership between the Armed Forces of Pakistan and Turkiye, it further said.

The visiting dignitary also visited Naval Headquarters, Islamabad, and called on Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

Commander of Turkish Land Forces also called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff at Air Headquarters (AHQ), Islamabad.

The meeting focused on bilateral military cooperation.
