RAWALPINDI:

Authorities have warned of strict action against furniture shops, factories, warehouses and other high-risk commercial units as a severe heatwave is expected to hit the city for the next 15 days.

According to the Met Dept, intense sunshine and a strong heatwave are expected across the region over the next two weeks.

In response, the DC and Civil Defence have directed furniture shops, plastic and chemical factories, paper and cardboard warehouses, shoe and garment units and chemical-related businesses handling acids, ammonia and hazardous gases to immediately install modern fire-fighting equipment.
