Halle Berry and her former partner Gabriel Aubry came together in Los Angeles this week to attend their daughter Nahla’s high school graduation, marking a rare public reunion after years of legal disputes and co-parenting challenges.

The Oscar-winning actress arrived at the ceremony alongside her fiancé Van Hunt, according to reports, as the family gathered to support 18-year-old Nahla at a major educational milestone ahead of her transition to college.

Berry and Aubry split in April 2010 when Nahla was a toddler. Their separation was followed by a prolonged child support dispute that drew public attention over several years.

Despite this history, both parents were present at the graduation event, with reports describing the interaction as somewhat awkward but focused on their daughter’s achievement.

Berry has previously spoken about Nahla’s academic future, sharing in 2025 that her daughter had enrolled in a college summer programme at the institution she hopes to attend.

She later posted on social media celebrating Nahla’s early college acceptance, describing the moment as a significant milestone for her family.

In earlier interviews, Berry said she felt both concern and pride as her daughter approached adulthood, noting that she was “dying to see who she’s gonna be and what she’ll discover” while acknowledging the natural worry that comes with parenting a teenager preparing to leave home.

The co-parenting relationship between Berry and Aubry has been shaped by court proceedings over the years.

In 2014, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered Berry to pay monthly child support, later reduced in 2021, alongside additional income-based payments. The case was later adjusted further through court filings.

Berry also shares a son, Maceo, with ex-husband Olivier Martinez, with whom she finalised divorce proceedings in 2015. The pair previously issued a joint statement emphasising respect and privacy during their separation.

In recent years, Berry has spoken about her relationship with musician Van Hunt, crediting her personal happiness with improving her approach to parenting and overall family life.
