LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight lands on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18 with new open world gameplay

Warner Bros. Games and TT Games have officially revealed a new release date trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, confirming its launch on Nintendo Switch 2.
The upcoming action-adventure title is set to release on 18 September for Nintendo’s next-generation console, bringing the full open-world Gotham City experience to handheld play for the first time. The game is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
According to the official description, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight follows the journey of Bruce Wayne as he embraces his identity as Batman. The game pays tribute to the iconic superhero’s legacy across multiple eras, drawing inspiration from films, television series, comic books and previous video games.
Developed by TT Games, the title continues the studio’s long-running LEGO franchise, known for its family-friendly approach to major pop culture properties. The game features an expansive open-world Gotham City, allowing players to explore, complete missions and engage in combat while unlocking various characters and abilities tied to Batman’s universe.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version aims to deliver the full experience on the go, expanding accessibility for players who prefer portable gaming without sacrificing scale or performance.
Alongside the release date announcement, the trailer highlights gameplay sequences and story elements that showcase Batman’s evolution and his encounters with iconic villains from the franchise.
With its combination of open-world design and LEGO-style gameplay, Legacy of the Dark Knight is shaping up to be one of the major superhero game releases of 2026.
