Cardi B has filed a new federal civil lawsuit as part of her ongoing legal dispute with YouTuber Tasha K, alleging that Tasha K’s husband, Cheickna Kebe, helped conceal and transfer assets to prevent the rapper from collecting a nearly $4 million court judgment.

The latest filing stems from Cardi B’s successful defamation case against Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe. In 2019, Cardi sued the blogger over videos that she argued contained false and defamatory claims about her personal life.

A jury ruled in Cardi’s favour in January 2022, finding Tasha K liable for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress, resulting in an award of just under $4 million.

According to the new lawsuit, Cardi alleges that shortly after the verdict, Tasha K and Kebe “fraudulently received, concealed, or diverted” assets to keep them beyond her reach.

The complaint claims that in May 2022, Kebe established a company called Yelen Entertainment, LLC. Cardi alleges that assets from Kebe Studios, the business responsible for paying a significant portion of the judgment, were transferred to the new company.

The filing argues that the move left Kebe Studios “an empty shell with no assets from which Ms. Almánzar could collect the Kebe Studios Judgment.”

The lawsuit further alleges that Kebe rerouted Tasha K’s earnings through company accounts, removed her name from bank accounts and arranged for a Georgia property to be transferred into his name. Court documents referenced in the filing state that the property was transferred in March 2022 for $1.

The complaint quotes Kebe as allegedly stating under oath that some of the actions were intended to protect assets from collection efforts.

When asked why he accepted ownership of the Georgia property, he is quoted as saying, “I wanted to help her avoid garnishment.”

Cardi is seeking recovery of the judgment amount, interest, reversal of the disputed transfers and court orders preventing further asset transfers.
