Hudson Williams celebrates career milestone with girlfriend and parents at Canadian Screen Awards
The rising actor received one of Canadian television’s biggest honours after a breakout year on screen

Hudson Williams enjoyed a memorable evening at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards, where the breakout star was joined by his girlfriend and parents while collecting one of the ceremony’s top acting honours. The actor’s appearance quickly drew attention online after photographs from the event showed him celebrating the milestone with his family and loved ones on the red carpet and inside the venue.
Williams won Best Lead Performer in a Drama Series for his role as Shane Hollander in Heated Rivality, the acclaimed hockey romance drama that has become one of Canada’s biggest television success stories of the past year. The series entered the awards season as a major contender and ultimately delivered a record breaking performance across the Canadian Screen Awards ceremonies.
During the televised ceremony in Toronto on May 31, Williams accepted the award and used part of his speech to acknowledge his co star Connor Storrie, who plays Ilya Rozanov in the series. Storrie was not eligible for the acting category because of Canadian Screen Awards eligibility rules, despite the pair’s performances helping drive the show’s popularity.
According to reports from the ceremony, Williams said he wished he could split the award in half and share it with Storrie, adding that his own performance benefited greatly from working alongside his co star. The comments received a warm response from fans and attendees.
Heated Rivalry proved to be the dominant television programme of the awards, winning a total of 16 Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Drama Series, Audience Choice and Williams’ acting prize. The production had already secured 13 awards at the scripted television gala before adding further victories during the main broadcast.
The win marks another significant achievement in what has been a remarkable year for Williams. The actor received widespread attention following the release of Heated Rivalry, earned a Canadian Screen Award nomination earlier in the year and has since landed new acting projects while expanding his profile internationally.
Online, many fans focused not only on the award itself but also on the photographs of Williams celebrating with his parents and girlfriend. Images from the event circulated widely across social media communities, with supporters praising the actor for sharing the moment with those closest to him.

For Williams, the evening represented both a personal and professional milestone. Surrounded by family and fresh from a record setting awards run for Heated Rivalry, the Canadian actor left Toronto with one of the industry’s highest honours and further confirmation that his breakout success has become one of television’s biggest stories of the year.
