'Toy Story 5' director addresses Taylor Swift rumours ahead of film release
'Toy Story 5' director Andrew Stanton has addressed rumours linking Taylor Swift to Pixar sequel

Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton has addressed speculation linking Taylor Swift to the upcoming Pixar sequel, confirming that the singer is not involved with the film despite recent fan theories.
The rumours emerged as anticipation continues to build ahead of Toy Story 5's cinema release on June 19.
Interest intensified after a billboard promoting the film appeared to contain several references that fans associated with Swift.
The billboard featured the initials “TS” alongside Andy’s iconic bedroom wallpaper design and included 13 clouds, a number closely associated with the Grammy-winning singer.
Pixar further fuelled discussion by sharing a video of Jessie dancing on the billboard and captioning it with a lyric from Swift’s 2014 hit Shake It Off: “She’s making those moves up as she goes!”
The speculation quickly spread online, with some fans suggesting Swift could be involved in the film’s soundtrack or perform a song during the end credits.
However, Stanton has now dismissed those theories. Speaking in an interview with Khoslaa, the director said the rumours were unexpected.
“It surprised us,” he said. “We’d be frickin’ honored.”
Producer Lindsey Collins also commented on the speculation, expressing enthusiasm about the idea despite confirming it was not true.
“If she was, it would be pretty amazing,” Collins said.
Stanton went on to clarify that Swift does not appear on the film’s soundtrack.
“The sad truth is, we watched the movie being mixed last week, done, and the song on the end of that was not Taylor Swift’s song,” he said.
The interview was released several days before Pixar shared the billboard-related social media content, leading some fans to believe the studio was acknowledging the online discussion surrounding the rumour.
Toy Story 5 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 19, marking the latest instalment in Pixar’s long-running animated franchise.
