From is a sci-fi horror drama that follows a group of strangers trapped inside a mysterious town they can never leave. No matter which road they take, every attempt to escape brings them right back to the same isolated place.

Created by John Griffin, the MGM+ series first premiered in 2022 and quickly gained attention for its eerie atmosphere, psychological horror, and complex mythology.

The story centers on the residents of the town, many of whom arrived there accidentally while travelling. During the day, they try to survive and uncover clues about where they are and why they cannot escape. But at night, terrifying humanoid creatures emerge from the surrounding forest, forcing everyone indoors before sunset.

The monsters appear friendly at first, often smiling or speaking calmly, but they become brutally violent once invited inside. To stay alive, residents rely on protective talismans that keep the creatures out of their homes.

As the series progresses, the mystery deepens beyond simple survival horror. Characters begin experiencing visions, strange symbols, supernatural voices, and connections to alternate timelines and hidden histories linked to the town itself.

Season 4 expands the mythology further by exploring parallel realities and mysterious abilities connected to characters like Jade and Tabitha Matthews. Their discoveries suggest the town may exist outside normal space and time, raising new questions about whether escape is even possible.

The series stars Harold Perrineau as Boyd Stevens, the town’s determined leader trying to maintain order amid growing fear and chaos.

With its blend of psychological suspense, supernatural terror, and unanswered mysteries, From has become one of MGM+’s most talked-about horror shows.
