PESHAWAR:

The administration of Islamia College Peshawar has taken swift action following the alleged harassment and misbehavior with a female lecturer, suspending three students and issuing an official notification in this regard.

According to the notification issued by the college administration, the preliminary report of the Disciplinary Committee identified the involvement of three students in the incident. The students have been suspended for two weeks. The notification further states that the three students will remain barred from entering the university premises until the Disciplinary Committee reaches a final decision. The committee has been directed to complete its proceedings within the stipulated time and submit its final report.

Meanwhile, the Islamia College Teaching Staff Association has announced the postponement of its ongoing strike until the final decision of the Disciplinary Committee.

According to the Association, all teaching and academic activities at the college will continue as normal until June 8, during which the committee will complete its investigation.

The incident has raised concerns among faculty members and academic circles regarding the protection of female teachers and the prevention of harassment in educational institutions, with many demanding a thorough and transparent probe into the matter.
