Kodak Black has been arrested for the second time in just over a week, adding another chapter to the rapper’s growing legal troubles in Florida. Authorities confirmed that the 28 year old artist, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was taken into custody on May 14 on charges of resisting an officer without violence and attempting to flee law enforcement.

According to Broward County Sheriff’s Office records, Kapri was booked into Broward County Jail following the arrest. Both charges remain pending trial and his bond was reportedly set at $0 at the time of booking. The arrest quickly sparked another wave of online discussion surrounding the rapper’s repeated legal issues and turbulent relationship with law enforcement.

Kapri’s attorney Bradford Cohen addressed the arrest in comments shared with TMZ, describing the incident as a “self surrender” tied to what he called another lengthy investigation. Cohen argued that the latest case had allegedly taken months to investigate and suggested his client was being unfairly targeted by authorities. The lawyer also claimed the arrest was expected and part of a familiar pattern involving what he described as weak allegations.

The latest arrest comes only days after Kodak Black appeared in court over a separate felony drug trafficking case. That investigation stemmed from a November incident in Orlando where police responded to reports of gunfire outside the Children’s Safety Village. Officers allegedly discovered drugs inside one of the vehicles at the scene, leading to Kapri’s arrest on a trafficking in MDMA charge earlier this month.

Court records showed the rapper pleaded not guilty on May 7 and requested a jury trial. A judge reportedly set bond at $75,000 while also referencing Kapri’s criminal history, which includes multiple felony convictions and misdemeanours.

Investigators also alleged that items found inside the vehicle matched accessories and objects previously shown on Kodak Black’s Instagram account. Police documents claimed officers recovered a pair of pink scissors, jewellery and a firearm similar to items displayed in his social media posts.

The rapper has faced legal controversy for years, with arrests and probation violations repeatedly interrupting his music career. Despite the ongoing cases, Kodak Black continues to maintain a strong fan base and remains active in music. Supporters online defended the artist following news of the latest arrest, while critics questioned why his legal issues continue to escalate.

At present, authorities have not released additional details regarding the newest charges or when Kapri is expected back in court.
