RAWALPINDI:

Police investigations into a second killing carried out in alleged retaliation for an earlier murder, which took place in the Dhamaial police station jurisdiction of Peer Meher Ali Shah Town, have revealed evidence of inhumane treatment, mutilation of a body, kidnapping and torture.

Police have added five additional serious charges, including Section 302, in the cross-version statement of the victim's father, Zain Shah.

According to police sources, the detailed post-mortem reports of both killings are still awaited. However, during the investigation of the FIR and cross-version case registered at Dhamaial PS, the inquiry team has obtained significant digital evidence, including videos purportedly showing the brutal torture of the deceased Zain Shah.

Sources said the footage depicts the victim being subjected to severe violence. Following this, further stringent provisions have been incorporated into the cross-version case lodged by Zain Shah's father. These now include murder (Section 302), kidnapping (Section 364), desecration of a corpse (Section 297), rioting, and criminal intimidation (Section 506-II) of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Police have nominated 17 suspects and formed special teams for their arrest. According to investigators, on May 8, Siraj Khan was first shot dead over a financial dispute, after which enraged relatives allegedly abducted and subjected Zain Shah to brutal torture. He was reportedly killed at the same location where Siraj Khan was murdered.
