Cooking oil, ghee prices rise by Rs50 per kg

RAWALPINDI:

Prices of all types of cooking oil and ghee have registered another increase in the open market, with rates rising by Rs50 per kilogram during the current week.

According to market figures, prices have increased by a total of Rs70 per kilogramme over the past month.

Cooking oil of different brands is now being sold at Rs560 per litre, while Dalda cooking oil has reached Rs600 per litre. Ghee prices have climbed to Rs550 per kilogram, while Dalda ghee is being sold at Rs590 per kilogram.

The Rawalpindi Grocers and Merchants Association said another increase of around Rs20 was expected before the start of the budget in June, while an additional rise of up to Rs30 was likely after the budget announcement.
