RAWALPINDI:

The district administration has imposed a complete ban on the collection of sacrificial animal hides by all 95 proscribed organisations, NGOs and trusts across the country during Eidul Azha.

The administration also announced that under Section 144, no individual, mosque administration, seminary, religious group or NGO in Rawalpindi district would be allowed to collect hides without obtaining permission from the deputy commissioner.

According to the notification, banned organisations, trusts and NGOs will not be allowed to collect sacrificial hides under any circumstances.

Other organisations interested in collecting hides have been directed to submit applications for no-objection certificates (NOCs) to the Deputy Commissioner Office Rawalpindi by May 17. Authorities said no applications would be accepted after the deadline.

The district administration stated that obtaining an NOC would be mandatory for collecting sacrificial hides during Eidul Azha and that no one would be permitted to collect hides without official approval.

Officials warned that collecting hides without an NOC would be considered illegal and could result in terrorism cases and arrests.
