Rawalpindi notifies eight cattle markets

Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema has issued a notification for the establishment of eight major cattle markets across Rawalpindi district ahead of Eidul Azha.
Three cattle markets will operate within Rawalpindi city limits. According to the notification, the main central cattle market for sacrificial animals will be established at Bhatta Chowk on the Rawalpindi-Islamabad junction.
The chief officer of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board will supervise the market.
The second market in Rawalpindi will be set up at UC Ranyal on Chakri Road, while the third will operate on GT Road in Rawat. The chief officer of the district council will serve as the in-charge of both markets.
In Gujar Khan, the fourth cattle market will be established on Gulyana Road under the supervision of the chief officer of the municipal committee.
Taxila will have two cattle markets - one on GT Road and the other near the Sunday Bazaar. Another market will be established at the underpass bypass in Kallar Syedan, while Kahuta tehsil will have a cattle market at Sakhi Sabzwari.
Chief officers will act as in-charges of all markets, while local assistant commissioners will supervise arrangements.
