School collapse sparks inspection

RAWALPINDI:

Following the tragic collapse of a private school roof in Dera Ghazi Khan, the education department has sought details of all dilapidated and leaking govt and private school buildings across Punjab.

The details from Rawalpindi Division revealed that a total of 138 school buildings in the division are in poor condition and leak during rainfall.

According to the report, 24 such buildings are in Rawalpindi district, 37 in Attock, 64 in Jhelum and 13 in Chakwal. Fourteen highly dangerous buildings have already been vacated.
