CrossFit coach Kerrie Olsen is on life support after a Mexico golf cart crash caused severe brain injuries

Utah-based CrossFit coach Kerrie Olsen is on life support after a severe golf cart accident during a trip to Mexico left her with critical brain injuries, according to family updates and a GoFundMe page.
Olsen, who owns Skol CrossFit in Utah, was traveling in Puerto Vallarta in May 2026 when the golf cart she was riding in tipped over. She was reportedly seated with friends at the time of the incident and suffered a traumatic brain injury after striking her head.
Her close friend Annie Stagg described the moment of the crash as sudden and devastating, saying they were “just driving around talking and laughing” before the situation turned critical.
Medical reports shared on the fundraising page confirm Olsen suffered a subdural hematoma with significant bleeding and brain swelling, requiring emergency surgery in Mexico. Doctors later arranged a medical evacuation to the United States, where she was transported directly to an intensive care unit.

A GoFundMe campaign set up to support her medical expenses and family needs has raised nearly $100,000 toward its $500,000 goal.
Olsen is a certified CrossFit trainer with a background in gymnastics and holds CPR, AED, and first aid certifications. She is also known for building a strong fitness community through her Utah-based gym, which members describe as a close-knit, family-oriented space.
