RAWALPINDI:

Employees' organisations across the country, including teachers, doctors, clerks, lecturers, and grade 1 to 4 staff, along with labour unions, have announced a long march to Islamabad on the federal budget day and sit-ins outside the Punjab Assembly on the provincial budget day.

Organisations including AIGGA, APCA, Professors and Lecturers Association, and Education and Railway Pensioners Associations have demanded a 100 per cent increase in salaries and pensions in view of rising inflation and a sharp increase in petroleum prices.

They announced that on the federal budget day, a long march will be held from PIMS to Parliament, while a sit-in will take place outside the Punjab Assembly on the provincial budget day.

Hafeez Ur Rehman | 2 weeks ago | Reply This is a good initiative and we fully support it. Due to inflation it has become very difficult to run a household. Electricity bills groceries petrol the rising prices of everything have broken the backs of the people. And whatever was left the government has completed. They are not reducing their own luxuries their protocol and privileges remain the same. They do not pay taxes themselves yet they rob government employees and put all the burden on them. Yes at the very least salaries should be increased by 100 this time so that we can manage our households. In Sha Allah this sit-in protest will continue for a long time this time.
