Personal belongings from the estate of late actor Matthew Perry are set to be auctioned next month, with proceeds supporting addiction recovery initiatives linked to his legacy.

According to Heritage Auctions, the sale will include a range of items connected to Perry’s career, particularly his role in the television series Friends.

Among the highlighted lots are a collection of 26 scripts from episodes such as “The One With Ross’s Tan”, “The One Where Joey Speaks French” and the two-part finale “The Last One”.

Additional signed scripts feature autographs from Perry and his co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, donated by Warner Bros.

Other items include a photo album titled “The One With the Last Supper”, complete with a personal letter, and a replica of the yellow peephole frame from Monica’s apartment, a recognisable prop from the series.

Perry’s 1995 Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series is also listed, alongside artwork from artists including Banksy and Mel Bochner.

The auction will begin on June 5, with preview access available at the Heritage Auctions showroom in Beverly Hills from May 18 to 29 . Bidding will take place both online and in person in Dallas.

Proceeds from the auction will support the Matthew Perry Foundation and related initiatives, including the Matthew Perry Foundation Fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as recovery-focused organisations such as Healing Appalachia.

Lisa Kasteler Calio, chief executive of the Matthew Perry Foundation, said, “Matthew believed addiction should be met with compassion and science, not stigma and silence. This auction fuels the foundation’s work to expand access to evidence-based care and confront stigma. It is one more way we ensure that no one has to fight this disease alone.”

Perry died on October 28, 2023 following the effects of ketamine use, having spoken openly about addiction throughout his life.
