Tremors shake different parts of country

ISLAMABAD:

A series of mild to moderate earthquakes jolted parts of the country on Monday as tremors were felt in Islamabad, Balochistan's Khuzdar district and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, though no casualties or damage were reported.

The most significant tremor was recorded in Islamabad and surrounding areas after a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck near the Tajikistan–Xinjiang border region. Its epicentre was located in the Tajikistan–Xinjiang border region at latitude 38.65°N and longitude 73.64°E.

In Balochistan, tremors were also felt in Khuzdar and adjoining areas. The seismic monitoring centre recorded the earthquake at a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale.
