Two illegal housing societies sealed

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has declared two housing societies in Zone IV of Islamabad, Shaheen Town and Islamabad Green Paradise, as illegal and sealed their offices.

According to CDA officials, in the first phase, all administrative offices of the illegal housing societies, including site offices and public dealing offices, have been sealed. These include Shaheen Town Lehtrar Road and Islamabad Green Paradise, where offices established for administrative and promotional purposes were shut down.

The action was taken for violations of the Capital Development Authority Ordinance 1960 (Sections 49-C, 46, and 46-B), as well as the ICT Zoning Regulations 1992 (Clauses 5(1) and 5(3)), and the "Planning and Development Regulations for Private Housing Schemes 2023" (Sections 40–42), due to the illegal sale and purchase of plots.

CDA authorities stated that the relevant departments have repeatedly warned the public through advertisements to avoid purchasing plots in illegal housing schemes and to verify that a society has obtained a valid NOC from CDA before making any investment.
