Prime Video has unveiled a first look at The Boys Season 5 Episode 5, and it’s not holding back, the long-teased Supernatural reunion is officially here, and it looks as violent as it is nostalgic.

The promo places Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy at the center of the chaos, now joined by former co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins in fully realized roles rather than quick cameos.

Padalecki takes on the role of Mister Marathon, while Collins appears as a Supe named Malchemical, two characters who seem poised to play a key part in the episode’s escalating conflict.

From the footage shown, the trio’s arrival isn’t just fan service. Instead, it’s woven directly into the season’s central storyline, with hints that these new Supes may help Homelander get closer to achieving something far more dangerous, a version of Compound V that could make him effectively immortal. That possibility alone raises the stakes dramatically as the final season pushes toward its endgame.

But any sense of reunion-driven warmth is quickly undercut by The Boys’ signature brutality. The promo teases intense confrontations, graphic violence, and a rapidly spiraling situation that suggests Episode 5 could rank among the bloodiest installments yet. Soldier Boy’s interactions with the newcomers feel less like a friendly crossover and more like a volatile clash of power, ego, and survival.

Behind the scenes, the moment carries added weight. Eric Kripke, who created both Supernatural and The Boys, has long wanted to reunite the trio on screen again. According to him, bringing Padalecki and Collins into the fold was a deliberate decision to ensure they weren’t just background appearances, but characters that actively shape the narrative.

Kripke has also revealed that scheduling had previously prevented Padalecki from joining earlier, but with that window finally opening, the writers were tasked with integrating him in a meaningful way. The result is an episode where all three actors share significant screen time, a moment fans have anticipated for years.

Narratively, the timing couldn’t be bigger. Season 5 marks the final chapter of The Boys, and the story has already reached a boiling point. Homelander’s grip on power has tightened, key members of the resistance are scattered or captured, and Butcher is preparing to unleash a deadly virus capable of wiping out all Supes. Introducing powerful new players into that equation only adds to the unpredictability.

With the series now past its halfway mark, Episode 5 looks set to deliver both spectacle and consequence. The reunion may be the headline, but the real hook lies in what it means for the endgame, and how much blood will be spilled before it arrives.

The Boys Season 5 continues to release weekly on Prime Video.
