50 Cent faces backlash after comparing himself to Donald Trump following shooting incident
The rapper reposted a video clip of Trump speaking at a public address where the US president discussed being targeted

Rapper 50 Cent has faced criticism online after sharing a social media post referencing Donald Trump in the wake of a recent shooting incident.
The artist reposted a video clip of Trump speaking at a public address in the White House briefing room, where the president discussed being targeted.
In the footage, Trump said, “Believe me, because you know, it’s my life. I want to make this country great. That’s why I wanna live. When you’re impactful, they go after you.” He added, “When you’re not impactful, they leave you alone.”
Alongside the clip, 50 Cent wrote, “Oh. That’s why they attack me too! @whitehouse.” The post quickly drew attention due to its timing, coming shortly after an incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, DC.
Authorities reported that a suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, allegedly arrived at the Washington Hilton armed with multiple weapons and discharged several shots.
No injuries were reported, and security forces detained the suspect at the scene. He has since been charged with multiple federal offences, including attempted assassination of a US president.
Online reactions to the rapper’s post were largely critical, with some users expressing disappointment. Comments included, “Nah bro, this ain’t it,” and “Bruh, no. I had mad respect for you but this is a major letdown.” Others indicated they would unfollow the artist following the remarks.
The rapper has not issued further clarification on the post.
