D4vd denies charges over death of 14 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez

Prosecutors outline multiple charges including alleged financial motive and witness killing as trial moves forward

D4vd has pleaded not guilty to a series of serious charges in a Los Angeles courtroom, marking a significant development in the case surrounding the death of 14 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

The 21 year old musician, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, appeared for arraignment following his recent arrest. He did not speak during proceedings, with his legal team entering the plea on his behalf. The case has drawn intense attention due to both the severity of the allegations and the artist’s rising profile in the music industry.

Prosecutors have filed multiple charges, including first degree murder with special circumstances. Additional counts allege murder for financial gain and the killing of a witness connected to an investigation. Authorities claim that the teenager visited Burke’s residence in the Hollywood Hills on April 23, 2025 and was not heard from again.

According to court documents, the victim’s remains were discovered months later on September 8, 2025 inside a Tesla registered to Burke. Investigators reported that the condition of the remains complicated efforts to determine a precise cause of death, contributing to the length of the investigation.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman described the case in stark terms, calling it a deeply distressing situation for the victim’s family. Officials also stated that the charges include allegations of misconduct involving a minor, which form part of the broader case being presented.

Burke’s defence team has strongly denied the accusations, stating that evidence will ultimately show he was not responsible for the teenager’s death. In a statement, his attorneys said they intend to vigorously defend his innocence as the legal process unfolds.
