22-acre land for Hyd water treatment plant
CM terms project vital for improving clean water supply to Qasimabad, adjoining areas

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Sunday approved the allocation of over 22 acres of government land for the construction of a six MGD Rapid Gravity Water Treatment Plant in Hyderabad, aimed at improving water supply for Qasimabad and adjoining areas.
CM Shah made the decision while chairing a meeting at the Chief Minister House, which was attended by Minister for Planning & Development and Irrigation Jam Khan Shoro, Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, Chairman P&D Niaz Ahmed Shah, Secretary Finance Fayaz Jatoi, Principal Secretary to CM Agha Wasif and other senior officials.
Minister Jam Khan Shoro informed the meeting that the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation had sought land allocation under the ADP scheme for the project in Deh Jamshoro, Taluka Qasimabad.
He added that the district administration had identified around 25 acres of state land in village Masri Sheikh, out of which 22.14 acres fall under A-1 category and are suitable for immediate use.
CM Shah approved the allotment of the land to Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, directing authorities to expedite the construction process. He stressed the urgent need to strengthen urban water infra-structure and ensure timely completion of the project.
CM Shah said provision of clean and safe drinking water to citizens remained a top priority of the gov-ernment. He added that water supply schemes in rapidly growing urban centres like Hyderabad would be completed on a fast-track basis.
He further directed the Planning and Development Department and relevant authorities to complete all legal and administrative formalities without delay to avoid any hindrance in implementation.
The chief minister said the project would significantly enhance water supply capacity and help meet the growing demand in Qasimabad and surrounding areas. He termed it an important step towards improving public health, quality of life, and sustainable urban development.
He also directed that transparency in land utilisation be ensured and strict monitoring of the project be maintained to facilitate timely benefits for the citizens of Hyderabad.
