A livestreaming incident in New York City involving content creator Sneako has drawn widespread attention after footage showed him being assaulted while broadcasting.

The attack occurred on Tuesday, April 14, during a live broadcast, with video of the confrontation quickly circulating across social media platforms. The cause of the altercation has not been confirmed.

Shortly after the incident, Sneako addressed the situation on X, reassuring his audience about his condition and indicating he would continue streaming. “Im fine we got it handled. Going live again in an hour for Professor Jiang X Dave Smith,” he wrote.

He later returned online and shared further details about the encounter, questioning whether the incident was random. “I got hit, you can see it in the video. I got hit a few times, I get up and immediately [he] pulls out mase and runs away. This doesn’t make sense that it was a random person,” he explained.

The footage has prompted discussion about safety risks associated with public livestreaming, particularly in busy urban environments where interactions with passers-by can escalate unexpectedly.

This is not the first confrontation involving the streamer in New York. Earlier in April, a separate incident occurred when a member of the public objected to being filmed. “I don’t want myself on your camera. Delete that shit,” the individual said. Sneako responded at the time, “I’m a YouTuber, I’m just making a video.”

Despite the incident, Sneako indicated he intends to continue streaming, suggesting the episode will not disrupt his online activity.
