Dan Stevens has joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection for its upcoming second season as a series regular.

The casting marks a major addition to the crime drama’s expanding storyline.

According to Deadline, Stevens will portray Owen Stark, also known as the “Five Borough Killer,” a new antagonist set to challenge the show’s central character. The role introduces another serial killer figure who reportedly taunts authorities with threats before carrying out violent acts, drawing comparisons to infamous real-life cases.

Stevens joins a cast that already includes Brian Cox, who plays the mysterious Don Framt, and Uma Thurman, reprising her role as Charley. The series continues to center on Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall, as he navigates the aftermath of a life-altering confrontation with his son Harrison.

Season 1 followed Dexter’s journey to New York City after surviving a near-fatal encounter, as he attempted to reconnect with his son while evading his past. With new threats emerging, Season 2 is expected to raise the stakes further, introducing complex conflicts and darker challenges.

The series is led by showrunner Clyde Phillips and produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios. Stevens, known for roles in Downton Abbey and recent film projects, continues to expand his television portfolio with this high-profile role.

As anticipation builds, Dexter: Resurrection season 2 is shaping up to deliver new twists, with Stevens’ character positioned as a central force in the evolving narrative.
