Taylor Swift leads 2026 American Music Awards nominations with 8 nods
The ceremony is set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25, hosted by Queen Latifah

Taylor Swift has led the nominations for the 2026 American Music Awards with eight nods. The singer, who already holds 40 American Music Awards, once again emerges as the most nominated artist this year.
Swift has been recognised across major categories, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for The Life of a Showgirl, and Song of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia”.
The same track is also nominated for Best Music Video and Best Pop Song, while “Elizabeth Taylor” has been listed for Song of the Summer. She is also nominated for Best Female Pop Artist and Best Pop Album.
The nominations for the 52nd American Music Awards were announced on Tuesday, April 14, by CBS and Dick Clark Productions.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 25, with Queen Latifah confirmed as host.
This year’s nominations also highlight a strong presence of first-time nominees. Olivia Dean and Sombr are among the leading new entrants, alongside Alex Warren, Katseye, BigXthaPlug, Leon Thomas, PinkPantheress, Raye, Role Model, Sienna Spiro and Tate McRae. Teyana Taylor has also received her first nomination in the Best Female R&B Artist category.
In addition, EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, who feature as part of the fictional group HUNTR/X from KPop Demon Hunters, have earned nominations in Song of the Year, Best Vocal Performance and Best Pop Song for their track “Golden”.
Among the top nominees overall, Swift leads with eight, followed by Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter and Sombr with seven nominations each, while Alex Warren and Lady Gaga have received six nods.
