KARACHI: The search operation against target killers and extortionists continued in Karachi as police arrested six suspects in the Burns Road area, reported Express 24/7  on Sunday.

The police cordoned off two streets in the area and conducted a house-to-house search. The six suspects were arrested from the food street.

Sources say that the arrested suspects include an extortionist, and the police are trying to trace his accomplices.

Police also recovered weapons from a graveyard in the Korangi area on indication of an arrested suspect Kamran Madhoori.

On Saturday, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh Police arrested a suspected militant belonging to the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi.

The arrested man was identified as Masoodur Rehman Mehsud alias Pardesi. The team also recovered a suicide jacket and a Kalashnikov from him.

Earlier on Friday, the police and Rangers arrested 50 other suspects from the Mauripur area and shifted them to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

The police and Rangers have been conducting several search operations in the city in efforts to curb the rising incidents of target killings.
