Medics warn of weather-related risks
Seasonal changes bring colds, allergies and infections

Health experts have cautioned that rapidly changing weather conditions are heightening the risk of a range of health problems and have urged the public to take preventive measures.
Medical specialists said that temperature fluctuations during seasonal transitions can weaken the immune system and trigger illnesses, particularly among children, the elderly, and individuals with chronic conditions.
Neurosurgeon Dr Yousaf noted that sudden weather changes often result in headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and stress-related neurological symptoms. He advised maintaining a balanced routine, getting adequate sleep, and avoiding unnecessary exposure to extreme temperatures.
Nephrologist Dr Adnan Ali highlighted the risks of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance during unpredictable weather. "People should increase their water intake when temperatures fluctuate, and patients with kidney problems must take particular care over their diet and fluid balance," he said.
Homeopathic physician Dr Manzoor Shah added that seasonal changes frequently cause colds, coughs, allergies, and throat infections. He recommended boosting immunity through a healthy diet, fresh fruits, and regular physical activity.
The doctors collectively stressed the importance of wearing weather-appropriate clothing, maintaining personal hygiene, staying hydrated, and seeking timely medical advice if symptoms persist.
