House of the Dragon season 3 trailer finally reveals Game of Thrones' most brutal war
The first trailer for House of the Dragon Season 3 teases the Battle of the Gullet, Game of Thrones' bloodiest war

HBO has released the first official trailer for House of the Dragon Season 3, setting the stage for what promises to be the bloodiest conflict in Game of Thrones history.
The epic sneak peek, carrying the tagline "From Fire Comes Darkness," picks up after Season 2's dramatic finale. With Alicent Hightower prepared to hand King's Landing over to Rhaenyra Targaryen, tensions within the divided House Targaryen are reaching a fever pitch. Daemon Targaryen declares to Rhaenyra, "You are the Queen of Dragons. You have absolute power within your grasp."
The trailer offers the first glimpse of the long-awaited Battle of the Gullet, widely regarded as the bloodiest battle in the Game of Thrones universe. The battle was originally planned for Season 2 but was cut when the episode count was reduced from 10 to 8 due to the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Head of Drama Series and Films Francesca Orsi explained that delaying the battle was the right decision. "It's just so massive, we needed the time to build it," she said, noting that a producer who worked on Titanic brought his expertise to the ambitious sequence.
Season 3 serves as the penultimate chapter of the series, which will conclude with a fourth season. Returning cast members include Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke, and Tom Glynn-Carney. New additions include Tommy Flanagan as Lord Roderick Dustin, Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly, and James Norton as Ormund Hightower.
Based on George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres on HBO in June.
