Zendaya rewears iconic 2015 Oscars dress at ‘The Drama’ premiere, says 'it felt right'
Zendaya rewears her 2015 Oscars gown at The Drama premiere, calling it a meaningful choice

Zendaya turned heads at the premiere of The Drama with a nostalgic and meaningful fashion choice, revisiting the same gown she wore to the Academy Awards 2015.
Arriving at the wedding-themed event, Zendaya revealed that the look was part of a deliberate concept inspired by the classic bridal rhyme: “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Working alongside longtime stylist Law Roach, she decided to bring a piece of her past into the present.
“I was brainstorming with Law about how I would theme dress for this film, and I kind of remembered the saying,” Zendaya shared. “So I thought I’d bring it back.”
Reflecting on the significance of the original moment, she added that wearing the dress again felt deeply personal. “It was such an important moment for myself, my community, for my loved ones, and it felt right. And it also happens to be a wedding dress, so that works.”

Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, The Drama stars Zendaya as Emma Hardwood, a Louisiana bookstore employee, opposite Robert Pattinson as Charlie Thompson, a British museum director. The story follows the couple in the final days leading up to their wedding, until their relationship takes a sudden and chaotic turn.
The film marks Borgli’s second collaboration with A24, following his 2023 project Dream Scenario starring Nicolas Cage. Known for his offbeat psychological storytelling, Borgli continues to explore complex relationships with a darkly comedic edge.
Zendaya’s appearance comes amid a packed year ahead. She is set to return for the third, and potentially final, season of Euphoria, premiering April 12. On the big screen, she will also star in The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan, as well as Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part 3.
With one dress, Zendaya managed to blend nostalgia, symbolism, and storytelling, proving once again that fashion, in her hands, is never just about the look.
