Teyana Taylor breaks silence after viral video shows her confronting Oscars security following Best Picture win

Teyana Taylor is speaking out after a video of her confronting a security guard at the 2026 Oscars went viral.

The 35-year-old actress and singer addressed the incident with TMZ in an interview published Monday, just hours after social media footage showed her in a heated exchange with security following the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday night.

"Security was just doing a lot. … There's always that one," Taylor told TMZ.

In the viral clip, Taylor can be heard telling the security guard, "You're a man putting your hands on a female. You're very rude." As someone attempted to pull her away, she added, "He put his hands on a female. … He literally shoved me. … Do not touch me."

Taylor explained her side of the story, telling TMZ, "I just don't tolerate disrespect — especially when it's unwarranted and it's unprovoked."

The altercation occurred shortly after Taylor's film "One Battle After Another" won Best Picture at the ceremony. The Paul Thomas Anderson-directed drama took home five additional Oscars: Best Directing, Best Casting, Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Sean Penn, Best Editing and Best Writing for Adapted Screenplay.

Taylor herself was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film. Her costars Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio del Toro also received nominations in the acting categories.

During the acceptance speech, producer Sara Murphy said, "My heart is exploding with gratitude," while Anderson gave shout-outs to Taylor and her fellow cast members including DiCaprio, Del Toro, Regina Hall and Chase Infiniti.

Before the altercation, Taylor had a memorable night on the red carpet. She stunned in a black gown featuring a sheer mesh panel at the waist and white feather fringe cascading down the skirt, paired with silver statement jewelry.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with fans divided over the confrontation. Taylor's comments mark her first public statement addressing what happened after Hollywood's biggest night.
