Karachi traffic police announces road closures, diversions for Youm-e-Quds rally

The Karachi Traffic Police on Friday announced road closures and traffic diversions across the city ahead of the Youm-ul-Qudds rally, scheduled to move from Numaish to Aman Tower after Friday prayers.

The Youm-ul-Quds rally is expected to start at 3:00pm, moving from Numaish Chowrangi to the Tibet Centre, where it will transition into a public gathering. Scholars from all schools of thought, community leaders, political figures, and other dignitaries are scheduled to address the gathering.

For participants walking to the rally, points at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Mazar-e-Quaid VIP Gate, Britto Road, and Ali Raza Imambargah will remain open. Parking has been arranged in front of Bagh-e-Jinnah and Mazar-e-Quaid VIP Gate for attendees.

To ensure better security, a large contingent of Sindh Police will be deployed at Numaish Chowrangi.

According to the Karachi Traffic Police spokesperson, key roads, including Mai Kolachi Road, MT Khan Road, Boat Basin, and Jinnah Bridge, will be closed in both directions for security reasons. Roads from PIDC to Jinnah Bridge will also be blocked.

Traffic approaching these areas will be diverted to alternate routes. Vehicles from Boat Basin heading towards Mai Kolachi will be turned back, while traffic from PIDC to Jinnah Bridge will be rerouted via Khajoor Chowk. Vehicles coming from Jinnah Bridge will be redirected towards I.I. Chundrigar Road.

Alternate routes for commuters include:

1. From Teen Hatti to Tower: Via Guru Mandir, Soldier Bazaar, Bahadur Yar Jung Road, and Holy Family Hospital or left through Binori Signal to PPP Chowrangi and Corridor-3.

2. From Nazimabad to Tower: Via Lasbela, Nishtar Road, Ranchhor Line, and Civil Hospital.

3. From Fresco Chowk / Eidgah Chowk to Numaish: Via Tibet Chowk, right to Regal Chowk and Empress Market, or left through Jubilee, Aga Khan, Ankle Syria, and Coast Guard to Soldier Bazaar.

4. From Dawood Pota Road / Lucky Star to Numaish: Via Pardi Chowk, right to Saddar Dawakhana and PPP Chowrangi, or left to Regal Chowk.

5. From Garden (Zoo) to Zeb-un-Nisa (Mobile Market): Via Aga Khan Suem Road, Coast Guard, Bahadur Yar Jung Road, Soldier Bazaar, or Uncle Syria Hospital, turning right towards Saeed Manzil.

The Traffic Police urged commuters to cooperate with law enforcement and follow the instructions to avoid inconvenience.
